Sharing records content

Linking other users to records

You can link directly to records content within The Social History Archive. When viewing a newspaper, select the "Citation" button, then "Copy Link" to add the link to your clipboard. Note that the page number you are viewing is included in the URL.

Institutional access is required to view records content shared via the Citation URL.

Troubleshooting

If you have authenticated via EZProxy, copy a link to records content, and share that link with a user who has authenticated by means other than EZProxy, the user who has not authenticated via EZProxy may experience issues accessing the content. This is because EZProxy rewrites URLs to connect users to content.

In these circumstances, we recommend sharing the path for the resource (for example, /record/browse?id=S2/GBOR/SUFF/COPY1-544-93/0002). The user can then append this to the end of thesocialhistoryarchive.com domain and they will be prompted to log in as normal.
